Brushing Teeth

Brushing your teeth should happen at least twice a day – when you wake up and before you go to sleep. If possible, you should brush your teeth after every meal so loose food particles do not create bacteria and plaque which leads to bad breath and other oral health problems.   The process of brushing your teeth should take at least two minutes. Use short, gentle strokes over every surface of your teeth and especially near your gum line. If there has been any modifications to your mouth such as crowns or other restoration, pay very close attention to those areas.   Here are some steps to follow when brushing your teeth:   Place brush against teeth at a 45-degree angle and then start brushing.   Brushing in a circular motion will be best for the health of your teeth.   Start with the outer surfaces of your top teeth and then move to the lower teeth.   After the outer surfaces have been brushed, start brushing the inner surfaces of your teeth.   Again, move from top to bottom.   Brush your tongue afterward to remove bacteria and germs as well as to make your breath smell fresher.   Call today to schedule your next appointment!
